Solomiia lived in Canada for almost 6 years, and Danylo spent most of his life (17 years) in Toronto.
They moved back to Ukraine at the end of November 2021, three months before the full-scale war broke out. After endless apartment-hunting, they finally found a sweet apartment in the centre of Kyiv and signed their lease on February 20. Three nights later, they were forced to move to the nearest bomb shelter.
Despite countless comments from their friends, who kept saying that it was “the worst decision”, “the worst possible time to come”, etc., a couple decided to stay in Ukraine and carry on the fight for our country’s freedom.
